CM inaugurates Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Multi Utility Youth Centre at Haraorou

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today inaugurated Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Multi Utility Youth Centre at Haraorou, Imphal East. An inaugural function for the same was organized by Manipur Development Society (MDS) wherein Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, Chairman, MDS Moirangthem Asnikumar Singh and Rtd. Lieutenant General L. Nishikanta Singh shared the dais as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively. The Multi Utility Youth Centre was constructed by Manipur Development Society.
Speaking on the occasion, N. Biren stated that the newly inaugurated Multi Utility Youth Centre would have facilities like gym, television connected to well informed news channels and other accessories which would be useful for youths in channelizing their energy in a positive direction. Informing that construction of nine other multi utility centres is in progress at different places both in hill and valley regions, he added that the Government was planning to construct 10 more such centres.
The Chief Minister appreciated earlier leaders like Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and Syama Prasad Mukherjee for their vision of eradicating poverty and advocating oneness of all communities. He also maintained that India had attained substantial growth in many sectors under the supervision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and as such the State had also witnessed inclusive development in the last four and half years through various welfare schemes like Ujjwala, Ayushman Bharat and Jal Jeevan Mission among others.
Informing that the State Government had always aimed to provide access to all services for its people affordably, he asked the public to apply for the Manipur StartUp scheme if the latter had any innovative ideas for starting a project. He further informed that one could avail loan for different kinds of farming-related activities from Manipur State Cooperative Bank Ltd. Prevalence of work culture and hard work amongst people would contribute much in making the State self-reliant, he added.
Regarding a proposal from the locals to construct a mini stadium at YMC Ground, Haraorou, Shri N. Biren stated that he would surely look at what development could be done under the Khelo India programme. Speaking at the forthcoming State Assembly Election, he appealed to the public to choose their leaders who would work with commitment for the welfare of the people.
Chairman, Manipur Development Society M. Asnikumar, while delivering his speech, appreciated the Chief Minister for his swift response in any proposal for development projects and added that construction of the Multi Utility Youth Centre had become successful under his guidance. He stated that the centre would provide certain facilities to the youths of Haraorou and would help them in harnessing their positive energies and become responsible with overall knowledge growth. He also appealed to the youths for proper maintenance of the centre so that its facilities could be utilized for the long run.
After inaugurating the centre, the Chief Minister also paid floral tribute to the portrait of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his 105th birth anniversary.
Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East Khumanthem Diana, Project Director, MDS Ranjan Yumnam and other officials also attended the programme among others.
