Naga Mothers’ Assn reacts over misleading news, lodged complaint to police

A news published in the Deccan Chronicle and The Asian Age as well as widely circulated at Facebook and Twitter by one Manoj Anand, a journalist, at which he stated that Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) is a frontal Organisation of the NSCN-IM, has been strongly refuted terming it baseless by the Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA).
“This kind of wild allegation is baseless and unfounded and used with malafide, intent to defame, humiliate and intimidate Naga women” a statement of the NMA said.
Based on the allegation, The Naga Mothers’ Association has, registered an FIR under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, with the Director General of Police, Nagaland, Kohima, against Manoj Anand.
Further, a legal notice has been sent to the reporter Manoj Anand to tender a public apology and withdraw his article and remove all his posts on this specific article on social media, Facebook and twitter, which has defamed the NMA, within 15 days or face legal consequences of defamation.
