Prof. A. Santa Singh, Director, RIMS was felicitated by the Patient Welfare Committee of RIMS, Imphal on today at his office chamber for nominating him as one of the teachers to be honoured by the Federation of Obstetric & Gynaecological Societies of India. It may be mentioned that Prof. A. Santa Singh will be honoured and felicitated by the Federation of Obstetric & Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) on September 5 on the occasion of Teachers Day for his diligent work and devotion in teaching and spreading knowledge making the impact on clinical practice.
During the felicitation, members of the Patient Welfare Committee, Ng. Nongyai, Dr. Chinglen Maisnam, L. Basanta Sharma, officials and staff were present.
During the felicitation, Prof. A. Santa Singh thanked the members of the Patient Welfare Committee for honouring him. He further stated that FOGSI is probably one of the largest membership based organisation of specialized professionals representing practitioners of Obstetric & Gynaecology in India. He felt really honoured to be amongst the best teachers nominated by FOGSI.
Prof. A. Santa Singh, presently the director of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal is also the Governing Body member of National Health Systems Resource Center (NHSRC) Govt. of India and also the Executive Member of National Sports University, Govt of India

In recognition of his service and performances, Dr. A Santa was conferred with the “Excellence Award” during the “Leadership Summit” held in November 2003 at Bangalore by the Manipal Education and Medical Group. He also got ‘Most Valuable Resource Person (MVRP)’ from IIM Shillong and was former President, Shillong Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society which is affiliated to FOGSI.
