After five years of Jiribam District being declared as a full-fledged revenue district, the district still remains with one nationalized bank and an ATM booth.
While people of Jiribam are in needs to withdraw money from their own account, they need to stand on long queue since from early morning.
Taking note of people difficulties in Jiribam, Sorokatingbi G.P. Level Multipurpose Co- operative Society Ltd., Jiribam appealed to the authority concern for opening and functioning of Manipur Co-operative bank in Jiribam district at the earliest, Stated by Vice President of Sorokatingbi G.P. Level Multipurpose Co- operative Society Ltd., Jiribam Pukhrambam Ibocha Singh today in a press meet held at Dibong Khunou, Jiribam.
Y. Chandrasakhi Devi, Executive Member, Sorokatingbi G.P. Level Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd. said that Jiribam District has a lone nationalized bank and presently it was functioning only three days in a week due to covid-19 restrictions, which get hard to meet the requirements of people.
She also appealed for daily functioning of bank as well as appealed to authority concern for opening and functioning of Jiribam Co-operative Bank as earliest in the larger interest of Jiribam populace.
