Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today hits hard to the BJP led government of Manipur over its negligence towards the villagers of Tousem in Tamemenglong district Manipur over measures taken up for the prevention of Covid-19 pandemic. The opposition party also mocks the promises of the BJP government in connection to the promise of making the NH-37 to that of the status of an airfield saying that except for some portion of the NH -37 ( Imphal-Jiribam route) remaining portion is better travel by boat or canoe.
In a virtual press conference held through zoom application, PCC member of the Congress Party Dr. Akhu while speaking to the media said that nothing has been taken up for the villagers of Tousem for the prevention of Covid-19 pandemic till these days.
He said that the primary held center has not been equipped with any of the Covid-19 preventive measures. He said that no testing facilities or vaccination for Covid-19 has been taken up for the villagers.
So far there are two persons detected with Covid-19 positive cases and both have been kept in home isolation as both are asymptomatic. He added that the government of Manipur has not organised any covid-19 vaccination session for the villagers and the PHC open there is functioning on namesake only with no adequate manpower.
On the other hand organisation secretary of the MPCC Hareshwar Goswami mocked the BJP government over its promise of making the NH-37 as that of the airfield saying that the present condition of the road (Imphal -Jiri) road would be better travel by boat than a vehicle as most portion is filled with large potholes.
Hareshwar however said that promise about the construction of the RCC Barak bridge has been fulfilled and it is under construction, but added they could not make it during this tenure as promised by them.
Hareshwar also added that most of the projects taken up for the improvement of the NH -37 were during the tenure of the Congress government even though there was BJP led government at the center.
The DPR of all the development works were prepared by the Congress government and till today none of the projects can be completed besides their promise of completing works in 15 days that the Congress can’t do in 15 years.
