Govt’s priority is to save precious lives: CM

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has stated that the utmost priority of the government is to save precious lives during this pandemic. This was stated by him during the inspection of the construction of Nongpok-thong (Eastern Gate) of Kangla Fort today.
Speaking to media persons, the Chief Minister maintained that the government has started the mass vaccination program for all eligible persons in every constituency with the support of elected members such as MLAs, Pradhans, Zilla Parishads etc. in the State. He appealed to the people to come forward and get vaccinated as it is the only means to protect and prevent from the dreaded disease. N. Biren Singh sought the cooperation and support of the people during the mass vaccination drive.
The Chief Minister said that each one of us has the equal responsibility in the fight against COVID-19 disease. At such critical times, one should know their responsibility and refrain from unreasonable arguments, he added. He urged the people to take all necessary precautions, preventive measures and COVID Appropriate Behaviour to overcome the disease.
On the construction of Nongpok-thong, Chief Minister said that we have a belief that there will be feeling of oneness, peace, harmony and prosperity in the State when we opened the Nongpok-thong (Eastern Gate) of Kangla Fort. The government decided to construct Nongpok-thong after deliberate consultations with historians, experts etc., he added. He maintained that the government has set a target of completing the construction of Nongpok-thong, footpath and recreational park soon and it will be dedicated to the people by October this year.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Minister for CAF&PD Th. Satyabrata, Chairman PDA T. Robindro Singh, MP (Rajya Sabha) Maharajah Leisemba Sanajaoba, MLA of Langthabal AC Karam Shyam, DGP LM Khaute and other top ranking officials.
