Imphal, April 20:

The state government has made no change to mandatory production of a negative Covid-19 test report taken with 72 hours from arrival in Manipur.
In an order issued by the Special Secretary Home (H. Gyan Prakash), Central government teaching institutions in Manipur have been directed to immediately suspend teaching classes requiring the physical presence of students and direct that teaching may be continued through online mode, suitably. It is also further ordered that examinations that have already been scheduled may be held by strictly implementing Covid Appropriate Behavior with all arrangements of physical distancing, arrangements of sanitization, thermal screening of teachers and students, and others engaged in the conduct of the examination. Suitable orders/arrangements for hostels (if any) may be worked out by the Institution authorities keeping in view Covid safety and convenience of boarders.
The order said that the Health Department, Government of Manipur, in view of the exponential increase in the number of Covid-19 infections in the country issued order No. MED-1/17/2/2020-HS-HEALTH dated 15th April, 2021 stating that entry to the State will be allowed only on mandatory production of a negative RT PCR/TRUENET/CB-NAAT Covid-19 test report taken 72 hours from arrival in Manipur.
There is also a need to check the spread of infection amongst the people who are already in Manipur by reducing the gathering of people especially in rooms of halls.
