Absconding Co-partner of drug peddler arrested by Kakching police team

An absconded co-partner of a drug peddler was arrested along with 5(five) Plastic packets of WY-Tablets total weighing 5.482 Kg by a team of Inspector Md. Abash Khan, Officer-In-Charge, Commando Unit, Kakching on 15/3/2021 was arrested yesterday by another team of Kakching district police yesterday.
The arrest of the co-partner of the drug peddler showed the seriousness of the state law enforcers in advancing the war on drugs, said a senior journalist based in Kakching district headquarters. If it continues with sincerity, there is no doubt that Manipur will become a drug-free state in the coming days, said the journalist.
Mention may be made that on 15/3/2021, Inspector Md. Abash Khan, Officer-In-Charge, Commando Unit, Kakching had arrested one Irengbam Somorjit Singh (33) s/o (L) I. Basanta Singh of Kakching Irum Mapal at present residing at Kakching Lamkhai near Christian Church along with 5(Five) Plastic packet of WY-Tablets total weighing 5.482 Kg and handed over to the Kakching Police Station for taking further necessary action. Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 23(03)2021 KCG-PS U/s 22(c)/29 ND & PS Act was registered and an investigation was going on. The arrested Irengbam Somorjit Singh was remanded into Judicial custody (Jail) on 23/3/2021.
As disclosed by the accused Irengbam Somorjit Singh, it was ascertained that Sinam Shambu @ Rakesh Singh (33) s/o (L) S. Keshori Singh of Kakching Lamkhai was involved in the case. Attempts were made to arrest the involved Sinam Shambu Singh but he was hiding to avoid arrest by Police.
Further, follow-up action of the case, a team of Kakching District Police led by Addl. SP(L/O), Kakching under the supervision of SP/Kakching arrested the involved Sinam Shambu @ Rakesh Singh (33) s/o (L) S. Keshori Singh of Kakching Lamkhai on 15/4/2021, further investigation is going on.
Apart from phones, a Tata truck used for carrying drugs has been seized too.
