India inches close to milestone of administering nearly 4 crore 50 lakh COVID-19 Vaccine doses

India has inched closer to touch the significant milestone of administering nearly 4 crore 50 lakh COVID-19 Vaccine doses. Continuing with administration of over two million doses in a single day, more than 25 lakh 40 thousand doses were given yesterday.
As for the state of Manipur as many as 80,166 individuals have been vaccinated. Yesterday 6 persons were tested positive . But comparing to the early days this has been much reduced
With this the cumulative vaccination figure in the country has crossed the tally of 4 crore 46 lakh doses. India is one of the fastest countries in the world to achieve these figures in a short span of time. The nation commenced the largest vaccination drive in the world on 16th January this year with vaccination of healthcare workers.
Vaccination of front line workers began from 2nd February whereas the most recent phase began from 1st of this month encompassing vaccination of everyone aged above 60 years and above 45 years with specified co-morbidities.
Health Ministry has informed that in just 20 days of the current phase nearly 1 crore 70 lakh senior citizens above 60 years and over 35 lakh people above 45 years with co-morbidities have been administered the first shot of the COVID-19 Vaccine.
The Health Ministry has informed that the COVID-19 recovery rate in the country today stands at  95.96 per cent. It said, in the last 24 hours, nearly 23 thousand people were discharged after recovery. Till now, over 1 crore 11 lakh people have recovered from the COVID-19 infection. In the last 24 hours, 43 thousand 846 new cases were reported.
The number of active cases in the country stands at just above the 3 lakh figure comprising around 2.66 per cent of the total reported cases. The Health Ministry has informed that 197 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours due to COVID-19 taking the cumulative toll to 1 lakh 59 thousand 755.
Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR has informed that over 11 lakh 33 thousand samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country yesterday. With this the cumulative testing figure has crossed the mark of 23 crore 35 lakh.
As of today, two thousand 423 laboratories are engaged in the work of testing COVID samples across the country which includes one thousand 226 government and one thousand 197 private labs.
