The “Isak Level 1 International Accreditation Course In Kinanthropometry” organised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science, Manipur University (A Central University) Canchipur, Imphal in collaboration with the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK) Universidad Catolica de Murcia, Spain which begin from March 18 at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science of Manipur University concluded today.
In the Inaugural Function of the ISAK LEVEL 1 Course, Prof. T. Inaobi Singh, Dean, School of Education, Manipur University, Dr. Anup Adhikari, Ph.D., Exercise Physiologist, Level 4 Anthropometries and Criterion Photoscopic Somatotype Rater (ISAK), Dr. Konthoujam Konsana Meitei ISAK Level 2 Instructor have graced the function as Presidium members respectively. In his Welcome Address, Dr. L. Santosh Singh, the Course Coordinator of the ISAK LEVEL 1 Course Introductory and heartily welcomed all the dignitaries on the dais and 24 participants and faculties from different departments. He expressed that This ISAK Level 1 Course was conducted first time in the Manipur University, further he expressed that the ISAK (International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry) was founded as an organization of individuals whose scientific and professional endeavour is related to Kinanthropometry. The head office is based at Universidad Catolica de Murcia, Spain. ISAK is the only International body in Kinanthropometry in the world which runs International accreditation courses in Anthropometry across the world. The accreditation scheme is based on the concept of a four-level hierarchy, Level 1, level 2, level 3 and Level 4. Level 4 is the highest honorary Level. ISAK courses are the only International accreditation courses in Kinanthropometry, which are recognised and validated across the world.
During the ISAK LEVEL 1 Course, Dr. Anup Adhikari, Ph.D Resource person and Dr. Konthoujam Konsana Meitei Assistant Resource Person has been taken technical session such as intensive, hands-on course, knowledge, skills and confidence to collect an array of physique related information including height, weight, breadths, girths and skinfolds to an internationally agreed protocol. The course includes theory lectures and practical sessions. The course covers different chapters during 3 days mainly (1) Kinanthropometry (2) Somatotype (3) Photoscopic Somatotyping, (4) Anthropometry and Sports performance (5) Body composition (6) How to calculate Fat % with skinfold callipers ( 7) Growth and development (8) Application anthropometry in different fields like Physiology, Nutrition, Sports, Anthropology, Physical fitness (8) Talent identification (9) Similarity and phantom “z” score (9) Anthropometry for disabled population etc with practical part of measuring different skinfold sites and segments with international standard methods and Technical Error of Measurements (TEM) .
Valedictory Function of the ISAK LEVEL 1 Course also Prof. T. Inaobi Singh,Dean, School of Education, Manipur University, Dr. Anup Adhikari, Ph.D., Exercise Physiologist, Level 4 Anthropometries and Criterion Photoscopic Somatotype Rater (ISAK), Dr. Konthoujam Konsana Meitei ISAK Level 2 Instructor have graced the function as Presidium members respectively. Dr. L. Santosh Singh, course coordinator has given welcomed everyone for the Valedictory Function a brief report of the Course. Participants of the Course also shared their experiences during the ISAK LEVEL 1 Course. The Valedictory Function was closed with a Vote of Thanks from Dr. L.Thambal Singh, Assistant Prof. Department of Physical Education and Sports Science, Manipur University.
