Imphal, Mar 18:

In connection with the death of a cadre of the Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA) at Chothe village, the outfit currently ensuing Suspension of Operation with the government clarified that ZRA has no designated camp at Chothe village, Bishenpur district.
The ZRA statement said that those inmates lodged at Chothe Surrenderee camp under the disgruntled, morally deficit, and misguidance of Aikhenthang @ Calvin H were dubbed as “Calvin individual cadres, vide Orders, Imphal the 27th July 2020, Home Department, Government of Manipur.”
The statement said that Calvin H, once VicePresident of Zomi Re-unification Organisation/Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRO/ZRA), was terminated way back on November 14, 2018, for his arrogant, egregious, over-ambitious, coup attempt and anti-organization activities. Since then, ZRO/ZRA has no connection whatsoever with Calvin H.
It said on the fateful night of March 16, 2021, Lianchinkhup alias Boipu Haokip stabbed to death T. Tongminthang and grievously wounded Robert at Chothe Surrenderee camp. The above mentioned trio was never a cadre of ZRA but hired by Calvin H as paid volunteers on a contract basis to quench his insatiable thirst for money and power.
The unfortunate incident happening on March 16, 2021, at Chothe Surrenderee camp is shocking and could have been avoided had Calvin H remained a loyal, faithful, and a trusted comrade of the Organisation. ZRO/ZRA while vehemently condemning the heinous crime committed by Boipu Haokip, condoles the untimely demise of T.Tongminthang and prays for the speedy recovery of Robert. ZRO/ZRA also urges the state government to act in haste for the surrender ceremony of Calvin H and his individual cadres so as to avoid another catastrophic incident. The macabre event occurring at Chothe Surenderee camp is a shame not only for the Zomi community but also for the state government as well, the statement added.
