I won’t stay dull as an MP as I had chosen it to serve my people – Sanajaoba

Rajya Sabha MP Maharaj Leishemba Sanaojaoba today said that he chose to become MP as he wanted to serve the people of the state.
Talking during a felicitation function of the RS MP by the Sahitya Thoupang Lup in connection with the 21st World Language Day, Leishemba Sanajaoba said that he will try to translate into reality to all genuine demand of the people. He appeals the people to advise him on issues that people wanted to bring up at the parliament.
“As I want to serve the people to translate the genuine demand of the people into reality I have chosen to become MP”, Sanajaoba said and added that he don’t want to remain dull by enjoying the benefit of being MP.
On the occasion, Sahitya Thoupang Lup presented gifts and an annual calendar and also submitted a memorandum to the MP for the construction of a separate complex for writers only.
The Sahitya Thoupang Lup awarded this year Khumbong Mayum Madumati Mother Language Award to Chungkham Jasowanta. And the award was handed over to him by Leishemba Sanajaoba today.
Further speaking on the occasion Leishemba Sanajaoba appealed to the people to stop crab culture among the people of the region.
He said that soon after he was elected as the MP he had urged the center for consideration of Manipuri Language as a classical language through the parliament and within a week the center has given a reply saying that the process for inclusion of Manipuri Language as a classical language has been started. However, the center had told him to fulfill all the four require criteria for consideration of Manipuri Language as classical language. If Manipuri Language has been accepted as a classical Language, then Manipuri language will be the 7th classical language, the MP said.
