Ministerial team visits Colleges, absentees to Face Music

A Ministerial team lead by education minister S. Rajen Singh has visited colleges and schools today. Minister was accompanied by Commissioner, Higher & Technical Education, M. Harekrishna Singh, IAS, Director, Education(U), Dr. Rangitabali Waikhom, and other officials of the department.

Rajen and his team visited Malom Megha Govt. High School, Nambol Higher Secondary School, Oinam Girls’ Govt. High School, Royal Academy of Law, Oinam, Thambal Marik College, Oinam, Nambol L. Sanoi College, and S.K. Women’s College.

During his visit at Malom Megha Govt. High School, the minister inspected the newly constructed and renovated classrooms. He visited classrooms and interacted with the students. Minister informed the students and teachers to use face masks during school hours. Minister also informed the staff to keep the school campus neat and clean.

The ministerial team also visited Oinam Girls’ High School and Nambol Higher Secondary School. During his visit to Nambol Higher Secondary School, two teaching staff were found absent while checking the attendance register of the school staff. Minister instructed the concerned authority to take up appropriate action against those absentees.

The education minister was pleased to see the good attendance of students in the class while visiting S Kula Women’s College, Nambol. As informed by the principal, Thambal Marik College, Oinam, and Vice-Principal, Nambol L. Sanoy College, normal classes were conducted today. Scrutiny of student’s Union election was also held at the colleges. Three staffs of the college including one non-teaching staff were found staying away from duty during the visit at S. Kula Women College. Royal Academy of Law, Oinam was also conducting semester exams during the visit.

Minister also instructed the college staff to provide face masks to those students who wore no face masks in the classrooms. Rajen also visited different departments of the college. He also interacted with the students. Later, the team visited L. Sanoi College, Nambol, and inspected the campus. Five teachers of the college were found absent during the visit to the college. Minister informed the concerned officials to initiate appropriate action against those absentee teachers of the college.
