Imphal, March 1:

Manipur Students’ Association Delhi (MSAD) has appealed the people of the state for restoration of the communal harmony among the various community which has been coexisted since time immemorial.
In a statement issued by its president Shaikhom Chingkheinganba, MSAD strongly condemn any hate speech to defame any individuals or community which might triggered hatred among the people.
“Different communities have been living together. However, various problems have been popping up, as we can see by our eyes, since after we merged into the Indian state. Manipur is a place where different communities which have different religions are living together. Each community has its own culture and identity, but all are bound under a single identity called Manipur. So we are all Manipuris”, the statement said.
It added that in the history of Manipur, there has been no battle or conflict between communities based on religion like that Hindu-Muslim riots as happened in India or crusades in Europe. But today it is happening in the state, the statement added.
“Every community has the right to demand everything they need. Instead of demanding their rights from the State, we see the wrong aspiration of targeting against one community. We take it seriously; it will create communal hatred among the communities. It disturbs the friendly co-existence of different communities” the statement said.
MSAD said that the organization condemn any hate campaign/ hate speech which are trying to destroy communal harmony. Every issue raised by any community can be achieved with united support.
The MSAD said that the association is of Manipuri students based in Delhi and it will always works for all the communities living together in Manipur.
