In another raid, the Anti Narcotics Cell of Mumbai Police (Ghatkopar Police) seized 1.20 kg heroin worth Rs.2.40 crore from the peddler Manzar D Sheikh (47) from 60 Feet Road in Dharavi in Central Mumbai. Actor’s house raided
In yet another raid, the Bengaluru Crime Branch (Karnataka) raided actor Vivek Oberoi’s home at Juhu in North West Mumbai, in search of his relative embroiled in Cottonpet drugs case. The raid was conducted apparently in search of his brother-in-law Aditya Alva (the son of former Karnataka minister Jeevaraj Alva), involved in the case.

” The Bengaluru Police, had information that Alva is at the residence of Vivek Oberoi. So a court warrant was obtained and the Crime Branch team visited his house, a Mumbai Police officer said.

The Sandalwood drugs case was exposed by Kannada filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh. Aditya Alva, along with Shivaprakash Chuppi and Sheik Faazil, have been missing ever since the police launched a crackdown against drug peddlers, suppliers and rave party organisers. So far, 12 people have been arrested by the Bengaluu Police in the matter. Actresses like Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani are under judicial custody. On the other hand, the NCB has raided many houses in Bengaluru including Aditya’s house.

For the last few months, the Hindi film industry has been under the scanner of the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI). Ever since Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was arrested in a drugs case, CBI started an investigation and names of celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh’s cropped up in the alleged drug nexus of Bollywood.
