Mantripukhri and Keithelmanbi Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised Tree Plantation Drives at Yaingangpokpi Company Operating Base (COB) and Andro Company Operating Base (COB) respectively on 23rd Jul 2020.
The Tree Plantation drives were organised with an aim to raise awareness about the importance of healthy green environment amongst the troops. The event commenced with an informative lecture on importance of trees to control the global warming.
The battalions planted a total of 465 saplings of multiple varieties mostly fruit, flower bearing and other saplings. The battalions had a dual aim of Environment Protection and Soil Conservation and also ensuring that it contributes it’s efforts towards making the society clean and green.
