The troops of Indian Army and Assam Rifles in association  with  Samaritan Group, Churachandpur and Gurudwara  Parbandhak Committee, Imphal extended humanitarian assistance to over 800 families of Thinghat Sub Division in Churachandpur district of Manipur yesterday.
In view of the extended COVID-19 lockdown, the under privileged families of the region were facing acute hardships due to non-availability of essential items. The initiative of the armed forces involved provision of essential rations and vegetables at heavily discounted prices for the locals in  these remote areas. A total of 800 families received the items while 60 families living below the poverty line were provided the items free of cost to help them tide over these difficult times.
