Skill certificates and trade licenses distributed to PMKVY trainees

 Loktak Brigade of Red Shield Division in partnership with Humanism Foundation has organised a Felicitation Cum Certificate distribution function of successful trained and pass-out trainees under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) at Kiyamba Sanglen here today.
The function was graced by Commander Loktak Brigade, Brigadier Sanjeevkumar; DC of Bishnupur district, Neeta Arambam; Chairman of Bishnupur Municipal Council, L Maniyaima Singh; Chairman of Humanism Foundation, Wahengbam Shanti Devi and representatives of banks.
As part of the ceremony, students were felicitated with certificates as well as Trade and Shop Licenses were distributed by the dignitaries.
It may be mentioned here that the trainees had undergone skill development training (PMKVY) in Field Technician: Computing & Peripherals at Loktak Skill Development Centre, Bishnupur being run under the aegis of Army in collaboration with Humanism Foundation.
A total of 240 students were enrolled about six months back to undergo this skill development training. Another batch of 240 students is undergoing training in Retail Sales Associate at the same co-existed with Loktak Brigade. They will be trained over a period of six months before they are exposed to placement and self employment.
The felicitation ceremony was organised to present qualification certificates to the candidates who had undergone this training. These youth are now eligible to undertake suitable jobs and self employment to start a professional career. The Chairman of Bishnupur Municipal Council distributed free trade and shop licenses to the 77 candidates who were keen to start their own business and shops. Director, SBI RSETI, also present at the ceremony announced that the 70 qualified candidates will undergo a 13 days Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) at the Skill Development Centre, from which will enable the candidates to start their employment with understanding of loan facilities by the banks. Branch Managers of various banks were also present to guide the candidates about loan facilities.
While addressing the gathering, Commander of the Loktak Brigade brought out the importance of skill development for the youth of Manipur and also announced that a new skill development centre has been started at Kumbi to further the cause and give opportunity to the local residents of the area.
DC, Bishnupur hailed the initiatives taken by the Army to extend Government’s policies to the people and offered her full support to enhance the opportunities of giving self employment.
She also assured to provide all possible support from the side of district administration in giving placement opportunities to the trained and successfully pass-out trainees under PMKVY.
The residents of Bishnupur expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciated the efforts of Indian Army and Humanism Foundation for facilitating job opportunities for the youth and women of the district.
