Countdown begins for MANITEX- 2019: 15 stalls from foreign countries and 56 from different states of India will take part – Bishwajit

State government is set to host the grant MANITEX -2019 – for the second time to showcase quality textile products for promotion of the state weavers. The grand Expo will begin on November 5 and concludes on November 15 at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboi khongnangkhong, in Imphal West.
To keep the surroundings and all routes leading to the Manipur Trade and Expo Centre is also important for drawing attention of the visitors and with objective to attract visitors Minister for Textiles , Commerce & Industry , Thongam Biswajit Singh today kick start a social service campaign at Naoremthong. The Minister himself joined the Social Service. He lead other volunteers in cleaning the route  from Naoremthong, DC Office Junction, Imphal , the routes leading to the venue at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboi khongnangkhong.
Talking to reporters Minister Bishwajit said that it is very necessary to maintain cleanliness for bringing development in the society. He asserted that politician alone cannot bring changes in the State, there is need for responsibilities for all in bringing development in our Society.
Minister maintain that handloom is second livelihood next to agriculture in our State and every household  either in valley and hill owns loom. Manitex is being organised since last year with an aim and objective to showcase all the quality textile products of our State in international level and to promote our weavers and artisans.
Minister Biswajit also highlighted the importance of youth in bringing a new India. He also informed that 12 international countries and 56 stalls from different states of India are going to participate in this year Manitex.
Ahead of Manitex 2019 , Directorate of Handlooms& Textiles is organising the social service to maintain cleanliness along the route leading to the venue at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboi khongnangkhong. And the social service is being organised to seek the cooperation and support of public in general and weavers and artisans in particular.
The Manitex Social Service flagged off function was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West, N. Prabin Singh, Director, Handloom and Textiles Lamlee Kamei and officials of the Directorate.
More than 300 volunteers including weavers, entrepreneurs, fashion designers, local clubs and NGOs participated the Manitex Social Service.
