Anal Naga Tagnpi ANTA supports Indo-Naga Framework Agreement

Anal Naga Tagnpi (ANTA) extended support to the Indo-Naga Framework Agreement signed between the the Government of India (GoI) and Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) on August 3, 2015 at New Delhi.
A statement signed by Jamhring Wanglum, General Secy., ANTA,  stated that The Anal Naga Tagnpi (ANTA) the apex body of the Anal Naga tribe affirms total support of the Indo-Naga Framework Agreement signed on August 3, 2015 in New Delhi between the Government of India (GoI) and Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN -IM). The statement appreciate the determined efforts from both the GOI  represented by its interlocutor R.N.Ravi and the collective Leadership of the Naga peoples led by Th. Muivah, General Secretary, NSCN-IM and the late Chairman Isak Chishi Swu for signing the historic document.
The ANTA recalled that the signing of the Indo-Naga ceasefire agreement in 1997 on the basis that the talks should be between two entities held at the highest level, in a third neutral country and without any pre-conditions subsequently led to the solemn recognition of the “Unique History and Situation of the Nagas” on July 11, 2002. This recognition has led to the forging of new relationship between India and the Nagas.
“The Framework Agreement furthers the goal of new relationship between the India and the Nagas by recognizing and acknowledging the importance of peaceful co-existence  by sharing sovereignty between the two entities. In this regard, ANTA is constraint to express that an agreement without the Naga flag and a Nagas constitution which would safeguard the inherent rights and identify of the Nagas would be going against the Universal principles acknowledged and recognized in the Framework Agreement”, the statement added.
The ANTA expressed trust to the collective leadership of the NSCN -IM and endorse the broad vision of the Framework Agreement and the concomitant “competencies”.
