MLA P. Brojen has assured free NFSA Rice to beneficiaries of Wangjing Assembly Constituency while speaking on the 123rd birth anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot at Wangjing Laikol Community hall on Monday.
The MLA also said that cultivation land which remains dry due to scarcity of rain will be prepared for cultivation of wheat within three months.
On the occasion, the MLA also distributed pension to old aged people.
MLA, Paonam Brojen’s wife P.Shyama Devi, also attended the occasion.
The MLA, while speaking on the occasion appealed people of the state to follow the path of Lanyanba Hijam Irabot.
“People of today should remember the words of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot and contribute for the welfare of the state”, Borjen said.
Regarding the programme for distribution of NFSA rice at free to the beneficiaries of his constituency, Brojen said that it was the ideology of Hijam Irabot to serve the poor that he made up his mind to distribute the NFSA rice free to the beneficiaries.
“Each beneficiary will get 5 Kgs of rice free of cost every month”, Brojen announced.
The announcement is the first of its kind in the state of Manipur.
Following the path of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot, a Charitable Foundation in the name of his late father P.Birahari distributes pension to the old aged people every month. He added that aged people who attain 68 years will be provided pension under the Foundation.
