Under the banner “Working together to prevent suicide”, District Mental Health Programme, District Health Society, Chandel organised “17th World Suicide Prevention Day 2019” at South East Manipur College (SEMCO), Kapham in Chandel District today.
The programme was graced by Chairman of Governing Body SEMCO, Kapaam Village Chief Roel Jindashing Moyon, Principal of South East Manipur College (SEMCO) Dr. L. Khiloni and Project Director of ABCDEOs Ujjawala Home as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
At the event, Dr. Kh. Robindro District Nodal Officer (DNO) of District Mental Health Programme, Chandel said that factors such as depression, stress, anxiety and alcoholic addiction lead one to commit suicide. Risk of committing suicide among youth who are experiencing stress/ depression is high and they should seek help, Kh.Robindro said urging all to give proper attention and care to all that need help.
The programme today also witnessed the attendance of Teachers, Non Teaching Staffs of SEMCO and Students in the College.
