MU raid’s Memorial stone demolished by authorities

The memorial stone installed in front of the MUTA office, Manipur University remembering the 20th September 2018 raid on MU by Security forces was demolished yesterday night by the authorities.

The memorial stone is yet to be unveiled.

Talking to reporters Registrar in charge W. Chandbabu while not mentioning who demolished the memorial stone said that earlier he was instructed to remove the memorial stone by the administrator Jarnail Singh, before he was out of station.

The MUSU, MUTA and MUSA had intimidated the Administrator for installation of the memorial stone on September 4. But the proposal was rejected by the Administrator, he said.

The Manipur University Students Union (MUSU), Manipur University Teachers’ Association (MUTA) and Manipur University Staffs’ Association (MUSA) today jointly organised an observation of the Manipur University Black Day in memory of September 20 midnight raid of the MU by the security forces.
