Government is making all effort to deliver justice to Babysana – CM

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh finally outburst his emotion over the agitations spearheading by JAC formed against the mysterious death of Babysana. 

“We are doing all we can by fulfilling every demand of the public particularly the JAC spearheading agitation demanding justice for Babysana, we have written to the relevant authorities for handing over the case to CBI twice after incorporating the IPC 302 , we have set up SIT and started investigation, police had now arrested some suspects and are investigating the case; what more does the agitator want after all we need to give some time for the investigation to be completed”,- N. Biren Singh said while delivering speech at the inaugural function of the Augmentation of Water Supply Scheme for Thoubal (Waithoupat), Thoubal district today.

He stated that the police has arrested all the suspected persons, autopsy was done twice with video coverage, and section 302 of IPC was later included in the case. He mentioned that the protestors, JAC, Meira Paibis etc. can access any documents and orders related to the Case from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

The Chief Minister further said that even though he understand the sentiment of the people and reason for organizing rally, it paint a disturbing picture to the state of Manipur to outsiders.

“It is alright to protest if the government remain silent and do nothing, but when the government is doing everything to ensure justice to Babysana, why the people need such hostile protest.”

The Chief Minister said that it is only after the investigation that people will know how Babysana died.

“After investigation we will know whether Babysana was murdered or died due to some other reason and it will be only after that the culprits will be awarded punishment as per the law of the land”, N. Biren Singh said.
