Locals of Shamurou sets 60 days as deadline to take out Machinery installations from Agricultural area

New Young Sporting Club, a local club of Shamurou and Meira Paibi of the area in a meeting held yesterday had set 60 day deadlines for taking out of the Machinery installations which is being taking place at Shamurou Awang Loukol.

The meeting held at Shamurou Awang Leikai Community Hall, presided  by L. Nonibala Devi also resolved to put halt of the machinery constructions at Shamurou Awang Loukol with immediate effect. If the decision of the local club and meira paibi is not complied then any unwanted incident occurred out of it should be held responsible by the owner.

A statement signed by Sandham Bijoykumar Singh, New Young Sporting Club also stated that the resolution will be submitted to the Chief Minister of Manipur.

It may be mentioned that “Imphal Times” reported about the occupation of agricultural land at Shamurou Awang Leikai. In the news report appearing on July 2 edition of this newspaper, such a construction at agricultural land is a mockery to the Manipur Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act.

Following the report, SDO Shamurou , Yumanm Nelson has issued a notification to take out all construction works being taken place at Agricultural land. According to the SDO, there have been reports of alleged violation of the said act from the four revenue circles in his jurisdiction .As such ,stringent warnings and notices were issued as per government instructions on taking action against the violation of the said act to all the alleged violators of the said act. Nelson intimated that in mid – June ,he had already issued notice to all the violators of the said act including  construction at Shamurou Awang Leikai Loukol with the Warning to face eviction if the construction works are not halted immediately.
