Assam Rifles Organises Series of Medical Camps

As part of continued endeavour of Assam Rifles towards improving basic health care in remote border villages, Chandel Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles and SehlonBatallion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised medical checkup camps at Pallel from 17 to 19 May 2019 and at Sehlon, Chandeldist on Yesterday.
The 3-day medical camp at Pallel was for the residents of Pallel and surrounding villages of AimolNungourok, Kuraopokpi, Tuisimi, Meipou, Komlathabi, Beaulahram, Teraphai. A complete checkup of every individual was carried out. Blood tests and urine tests including Hemoglobin Estimation (HB), Total Leukocyte Count (TLC), Differential Leukocyte(DLC), Total Eosinophilic count (TEC), Total Red Blood Cell Count, Platelet count, Coomb’s Test – Direct and Indirect, Blood Sugar, Blood Urea, Serum Creatinine (CRE), Triglyceride (TG), Dengue and Malaria (Rapid Test), Rheumatoid Factor (RA), Hepatitis-B and Hepatitis C virus Rapid Test, Urine complete, Urine culture and screening of the life style diseases were carried out by Regimental Medical Organization (RMO) of Chandel Battalion assisted by Free Diagnostic Initiative of National Health Mission.
The Pallel Company Operating Base provided free medical treatment and medicines to a total of 239 males, 109 females and 73 children. The medical camp at Sehlon also received an overwhelming response from local population where in medical treatment was provided to 110 villagers. In response to such a noble cause, Sehlon village Chief MrJamkhothang Mate expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards Assam Rifles for this initiative.
The Battalions assured the attendees that Assam Rifles would continue its work for safety and welfare of the people of Manipur. The residents conveyed their appreciation for this kind gesture and hoped that this would go a long way in further cementing the bond between the people and the Security Forces.
