KIL observes 9th Foundation day We will fight all form of oppression – Memcha

Kanglei Ima Lup (KIL) today observed its 9th foundation day at Manipur Press Club.

Highlighting various works taken up by the organization, General Secretary of KIL S. Memcha Leima said that the organization will take up all the necessary actions needed for upliftment of the sinking society.

“We will stand for truth, justice, upliftment and empowerment of women”, she said and added that the organization will also fight all forms of oppression and suppression towards any individuals. 

Memcha further said that their organisation has been fighting to remove the draconian law Armed forces special powers act 1958 where extreme powers were given to the armed forces which ultimately oppressed the people of the state murdering thousands. She added that they have also been demanding to implement Inner line permit system to save the indigenous people of the land from population influx by the migrants and immigrants.

She concluded that as their organisation was a women organisation it primarily focus on strengthening and empowering women and fighting for the rights of women. She added that to make the society a better one needs to uplift the women of the society. 

President of KIL RK Sanahanbi said that the government irrespective of the parties which governed never understand the feelings and stand for the people since the last many years. She further demanded to give intense punishment to those criminals who do various crimes against women. She added that KIL will stand and fight in the front for the people of the land. 

Advisor of South East Asian cultural Organisation Akham Langol said that the number of issues and problems flooded the state of Manipur. He added that as the number of issues were huge the civil societies finds it difficult to take up and find the solution of the issues. 

He warned that after 23rd of March the state will face a mammoth issue out of which the civil societies should altogether fight and stand against it.

National and international awardee Ibotombi khuman and Vice President of UCM Ksh Somorendro attended the function as the presidium members.
