Modi conferred with Seoul Peace Prize

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with the prestigious Seoul Peace Prize. He will receive the award during his 2 day visit to South Korea. He becomes 14th person and the first Indian to receive the award. Past recipients of the award include Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The selection committee of the award recognised “his dedication to improving international cooperation, raising global economic growth, accelerating the human development of the people of India by fostering economic growth in the world’s fastest-growing large economy and furthering the development of democracy through anti-corruption and social integration efforts”.
The committee also credited the Prime Minister for his contributions towards regional and global peace through a proactive foreign policy with countries around the world through the ‘Modi Doctrine’ and the Act East Policy. This award is a testament to Narendra Modiji’s growing stature as a leader, someone who is quite capable of ensuring peace and stability in the southeast Asian region.
Regarding the achievement of the Prime Minister Asnikumar Moirangthem, Vice President of BJP Manipur Pradesh  said, “As an individual who has closely followed Modi ji since his days as Gujarat CM where he took the state to new horizons I believe this recognition is the first of many to come”.
