According to Asnikumar Singh, State Vice President, BJP Manipur Pradesh while talking to Imphal Times said that the budget provides major relief to the middle income section as individual tax payers with an annual income of upto Rs. 5 lacs will get full tax rebate. Also the GST has been considerably reduced, resulting in relief of 80000 crore rupees to consumers and most daily use commodities of the poor and middle class are now in the 0 to 5 percent tax bracket.
“This comes as a major relief to the poor and middle class and also clearly indicates that this government under the visionary leadership of Narendra Modiji, as highlighted by Piyush Goyal will always put its people over and above everything else” Ashinikumar said.
The budget also provided some much awaited positive news for the Northeastern Region as it proposed budget allocation for the region to be increased to Rs. 58,166 crores, an increase of 21 percent from the previous year. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi an amount of Rs. 6000 will be transferred to the bank accounts of farmers possessing less than 2 hectares of land. This amount will be transferred in 3 instalments. This ground breaking initiative is going to benefit 12 crore marginal and small farmers at an estimated cost of Rs. 75,000 crores.
“In my personal opinion these reforms and initiatives couldn’t have come at a better time. It is a good feeling to see the lower and middle class’s plight being realised and acted upon by the government”.
“ I believe that a government which listens to the problems and plight of its people and acts upon it promptly is there for the long haul. This was, is and will always be a government that will show its true good intentions through its actions rather than words and that is what every democratic govt ought to be. The interim budget 2019 is a clear reflection of the government’s intention of continuation on the path of a healthy, prosperous India”, Ashinikumar added.
