Bike rally against CAB flags off

Different forms of protest and agitation has been initiated by different students organisations and CSO’s against the contentious CAB 2016 leading to perpetual disorder in the state.

With the objective of giving awareness to the general masses and as a protest against the contentious CAB the five student bodies namely SSUM, MSAD, AMMSO, AMPSUM, RSF organised a bike rally from the head office of SSUM at Keishampat Laishom Leirak to Moirang today.

  The bike rally which starts from today will cover the whole state to give awareness about the bill and pamphlets were also distributed.

The rally was flagged off by Tom TV Executive editor Dhamen Wangkhemcha.

Speaking to media persons, President of SSUM Yaima said that they consider the CAB as a slow poison for the indigenous people of North East. He further said that the people along with the student’s bodies and CSOs will continue to intensify various forms of protest and agitations against the passing of the bill.

He concluded that the bike rally is a protest against the CAB to withdraw in the Rajya Sabha.

It can be mentioned that  a Mass protest rally was also staged today in Assam against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016. The protest rally was organised by All Assam Manipuri students union (AAMSU) – Lakhipur district committee and united Clubs’ organisation (UCO).

Meanwhile, civil bodies and students representatives of the state are on the way to stage mass protest against the contentious CAB 2016 at New Delhi.

On the other hand Oriental club, Mangjil Meira Lamjing lup and Women welfare organisation Kangleipak also staged sit in protest at Khongman Mangjil against the contentious CAB 2016. Speaking to media persons Hidangmayum Ibemhal advisor of Meira Paibi said that they were not satisfied with the things PM Narendra Modi has been doing starting from demonetization. She said that they stand firmly against the bill which is against the will of the people of North East making a havoc situation in the entire North East. She further said that the bill cannot be implemented in the North East states. She finally appealed to withdraw the CAB from the Rajya Sabha.
