Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar Singh has said that development of a society depends on development of human resource in the society. He was speaking at the Silver Jubilee Celebration of R.K. Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya held at Haotal, Pangei in Imphal East today.
Deputy Chief Minister said, among the resources which are the parameters of development, human resource is one of the most important one. He said, imparting quality education to the younger generation for a better future is the aspect through which lots of efforts have been made from various quarters of society. Emphasising the need to impart quality education to the young minds, Joykumar Singh said, education is not merely the academic achievements but also to build character and develop personality. Building character and personality development requires inculcating extra and co-curricular activities in school life. Sports, culture of its own and other cultures around us should be taught to students so that good moral discipline can be developed. By imparting these things, students can be developed to the best level and their ability to think will definitely be enhanced. Appreciating the efforts made by R.K. Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya in imparting quality education to the girls, Deputy Chief Minister said, for the last many years this institution has been contributing a lot in human resource development in the State.
Expressing concern over the increasing culture of private tuition in the State, Deputy Chief Minister said classroom teaching will be helpful if students can take time and digest what they learnt at the classrooms to their homes. They should be given enough time to digest and enjoying their studies.
Vice-Chairperson of R.K. Sanatombi Devi Educational Institutions T. Asha Devi said an honest and strong partnership with a holistic approach between teachers, students and parents will lead to develop human resource in the state. It is in this direction that the group has been working for the last many years and will continue in future too.
Deputy Chief Minister also opened an Art & Craft Exhibition at the school campus. Teachers and contributors who have been associating with the Vidyalaya were also honoured in the celebration.
