Imphal, Dec29: Congress Party Legislature Wing leader, Okram Ibobi Singh today downplay the BJP led NDA government over its claim in making the country a super power nation in the world. Talking to reporters at the sideline of the 162nd Birth Anniversary observance of Bir Tikendrajit at Congress Bhavan, here at Imphal, the former Chief Minister and leader of the CLP said that today’s India is the creation of Indian National Congress. Okram Ibobi said that the BJP led NDA government was in power at the center for some 5 years now and the present day India is the fall out of the 60 plus years of Congress rules. “Today India is a Super Power Country of the world it could not have been the result of the NDA government who is in power just for one term”, Ibobi said and ridiculed the BJP saying that he felt ashamed of the claimed by the BJP as if the present status of the country is being brought by them. Member of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) including the President TN Haokip, CWC member Gaikhangam and other leaders paid fitting tribute to the portrait of Bir Tikendrajit on the 162nd Birth Anniversary at Congress Bhavan, Imphal. Okram Ibobi said that Bir Tikendrajit had sacrificed for the cause of the freedom of the erstwhile nation and the heroic act of the son of the soil has to be respected.
