Imphal, Dec 28,
Congress MLA Th. Lokeshwar, who is also the former speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly today gave a slashing criticism to the N. Biren Singh led government saying that the present government is extremely bias in nature that even the opposition MLAs are treated as enemies.
“Opposition MLAs particularly those from the Congress are treated as enemy and none of the opposition MLAs are invited to the so call ‘Go to Village’ programme”, MLA Lokeshwar told newspersons at the sideline of the inauguration ceremony of the Sinam Multipurpose Community Hall and the Sinam Youth Development Club in Khundrakpam Assembly constituency.
The one time speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Th. Lokeshwar further said that whatever the opposition put up for the welfare of the public has been considered as words from an enemy. He added that even calls for filling up of vacant post of teachers by opposition MLAs are not listened and there has been many obstacles in taking up developmental works in the assembly constituency of Congress MLAs.
“There is no room for criticism to this government”, said Lokeshwar citing example on how a journalist has been detain under National Security Act .
This government led by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh seems to prepare for action to anyone who speaks against them, Lokeshwar added.
The inaugural ceremony of the Sinam Multipurpose Community Hall and the Sinam Youth Development Club in Sinam Village in Khundrakpam Assembly constituency was also attended by Ex – MLA Okram Joy Singh, Ex MLA Ng. Bijoy Singh and Ward member of Sinam Village H. Subadani Devi.
