Spreading Christmas Cheer In Remote Areas By Chassad Battalion

Chassad Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a number of activities to spread happiness during Christmas in Kamjong district. Activities included sports events, medical camps, Church program, assistance to orphanage and distribution of cakes and sweets to school children and vill youth. Sports items including volleyballs, volleyball nets and footballs were presented to the children and youth as a token of friendship. It received overwhelming response from the locals as they were delighted by this gesture of Assam Rifles especially during the momentous occasion of Christmas.
Medical Camps were organised at remote  villages of Grihang and Aishi, in which over 200 persons were treated by the team of doctors and paramedical staff of Chassad Battalion.
The activities were organized to extend all possible help and spread cheer to the remote villages of Kamjong district where requisite facilities and infrastructure are not available due to the remoteness of the location.The  villagers appreciated the initiative taken by the Assam Rifles and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the help extended by Chassad Battalion.
