Assam Rifles Celebrates Armed Forces Flag Day

All the Battalions of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) celebrated the Indian Armed Forces Flag Day on 07 December 2018 with full zeal and enthusiasm along with the students of various schools in Imphal valley.
Keithelmanbi Battalion celebrated the day with school students at Canchipur and Lilong Company Operating Base as well as Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS)  Keithelmanbi. The Lilong and Canchipur Company Operating Bases organised lectures and distributed sweets to the students of Arapati Primary School and GT Memorial Academy. The Battalion organised a special assembly at Assam Rifles Public School  Keithelmanbi with a two minute silence in the honour of the soldiers of our country, a lecture giving out the significance of the day, patriotic songs, signing of graffiti board and screening of a video on “Know and Love Our Armed Forces” which was special for the students as the video was made by the teachers of the school.
Sawombung Company Operating Base of Mantripukhari Battalion celebrated the Day with the students of Leishamba English School and Thoubal Battalion with students of Haokhongching Primary School, Chandrakhong and Assam Rifles Junior High School, Thoubal.
Tulihal Battalion celebrated the day with the students of Recent Higher Secondary School, Sagoltomba and Yurembam High School, Imphal West District with an inspirational lecture narrating the valour of the Indian Amred Forces along with Weapon Display for the students at the Patsoi Operating Base. Nambol Company celebrated the day with students of Nambol High School in which students were familiarised with various ways to join the Indian Armed Forces as well as the vast potential of the North Eastern India in contribution towards the Nation building.
The Day witnessed participation by students and teachers from various schools all across the area of responsibility of the Sector. Everyone appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles and expressed their earnest gratitude for having celebrated the event with them and making them aware of the sacrifices made by the Indian Armed forces.
