A police team seized huge quantity of tobacco products at Saivom area of Tengnoupal district while trying to smuggled it at Moreh in a Tata Magic Vehicle bearing registration MN06LA 3581 yesterday. The seized tobacco products includes 35 cartoons boxes of Golden Khaini each containing 540 Golden Khaini box, (total – 18900 boxes) & 5 gunny bags of Saajan tobacco each containing 125 Saajan packets, (total – 625 packets) as per police source said.
The tobacco products were smuggled by Laishram Ajit Singh (25) s/o L. Amuchan Singh of Wangjing Bazar, Soraisham Premchand (28) s/o S. Shamu of Lamding Cherapur and Subham Kumar Samlu (20) s/o Ram Prakash of Telipati.
The seized items along with the detained individuals had been handed over to Food Safety Officer for further necessary action.
