Top BSF officer reviews operational preparedness of Manipur Sector

Dr. K C Mahali, IPS, Inspector General, Mizoram & Cachar Frontier  made a three days visit to Manipur and Nagaland to review the operational preparedness of BSF Battalions deployed in Manipur and Nagaland. BSF companies are deployed in districts of Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Thoubal and Imphal East. Apart from it BSF troops are also providing security cover to highly sensitive State Assembly and High court complexes. Sh Anand Singh, DIG Sector Manipur,  Sh J C Nayak DIG(Intelligence) Ftr Hq and other senior officer’s also accompanied the IG during the visit.
Post grenade blast incident on16th Nov’2018 at State Assembly, it was imperative to review the security scenario. Dr KC  Mahali, IPS took stock of the situation and spoke to jawans. He carried out thorough review of BSF deployment and directed troops to remain more vigilant. Thereafter, on the same day, he called on DGP Manipur and ADGP (Law and order) of Police HQ and discussed measures to strengthen both the complexes including physical and technological solutions. During his two days’ visit in Manipur, the IG also visited CI-Posts in Bishnupur/CCpur districts, Manipur. He talked to officers, SOs and jawans at BSF Headquarters, Koirengei in a Sainik Samelan and informed them about various welfare schemes being carried out by the Frontier Headquarters and asked them to remain security conscious at all time considering prevelant security scinario.
Smt Vijaya Mahali, BWWA, President visited welfare Centre of BSF campus and reviewed various social and welfare activities of families residing in the campus. She also inaugurated newly constructed residential buildings along with the IG.  Dr. Mahali appreciated the way troops are performing their duties in this CI environment. On 30th Nov’2018, the IG proceeded to Nagaland to review BSF deployment in the state.
