Assam Rifles Seizes Contraband Drugs

In yet another major haul, Tengnoupal Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) caught a huge cache of contraband drugs worth Rs 35 lakhs approximately from Khudengthabi. On 19 November 2018, at approx 2 PM, the team of Tengnoupal battalion ,spotted a  suspicious woman on foot along with a black polythene bag from Zaummunum Village to Khudengthabi. The suspected woman was stopped at Permanent Vehicle Check Post, Khudengthabi by the Mahila Riflemen of Tengnoupal Battalion and was thoroughly checked. During the checking and frisking of the  woman  and polythene bag,  122 grams of  white powder suspected to be heroin, 30 grams of  brown sugar and 2580 WIY tables  (13 packets)  were recovered from her bag.

On questioning, the lady identified herself as Mrs Teresa Haokip, Age 28, w/o Pau Johnson Zaou, Village Zaummunum, Sub Div, Moreh Dist Tengnoupal. The apprehendee along with the contrabands is being handed over to Custom office at Moreh.
