Hon’ble Minister, CAF & PD, Revenue, PDS, Manipur Karam Shyam expressed that the Revenue Secretary of Manipur will meet the Revenue Secretary of Uttar Pradesh for a bilateral dialogue between the two states in connection with the restoration of the Bari Kunja Mandir at Radha Kund as a place of worship for the Manipuris as a follow-up action, just right after talks and mutual agreement between the Chief Ministers of both the states regarding the matter were completed. The State Government will further take up necessary steps for the said task, he assured.
Bari Kunja Mandir at Radha Kund, Uttar Pradesh is a historic place for the Manipuris who used to carry out sacred rituals and religious practices in the early 1830s during the reign of Maharaj Gambhir Singh, he stated.
He said this while gracing the closing ceremony of the 220th Death Anniversary of Rajarshi Bhagyachandra as Chief Guest at Meera Monoranjan Dharamshala Hall at Mathura District, Uttar Pradesh yesterday.
Hon’ble MLA Kshetrigao AC, Shri Nahakpam Indrajit Singh and titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba also attended the function as the Guest of Honour and President respectively.
The event was that organised by Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation, Manipur started on the 9th of this month.
It is quite justified to say that Manipur owes most of its cultural development and growth to Maharaj Bhagyachandra, Minister K Shyam stated.
Rajarshi Bhagyachandra was one of the most versatile rulers amongst the kings of Manipur in terms of the outstanding contribution he gave for promoting the art and culture of the State and in serving the society and ideal thoughts he had for the welfare of the future generations, he lauded.
Appreciating that it is the culture he had started that put Manipur on the global map, Minister Shyam said that God exists in abodes where the human beings believe and have faith in themselves. “If we have faith in God, we will be able to make sacrifices. Human beings are the most valuable gifts of God”, he also said.
When death is close to us, we seek the His blessings, he also expressed.
Leaving his throne and sacrificing everything, Rajarshi Bhagyachandra died at Mrshidabad, Uttar Pradesh, Minister Shyam also recalled.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA N Indrajit Singh appealed the gathering that we should try and work together to revive our culture and promote it so that it occupies a distinct identity in the entire globe.
Keeping a strong faith in God and loving one another can help bring peace in our State, he added.
Shri B.Amusana Sharma,Chief Advisor, RBCFM gave the welcome note while Meidingu Leishemba Sanajaoba closed the function with the vote of thanks.
A symposium was also held on Rajarshi Bhagyachandra and Manipuri Culture during the function.
There was also Sankirtan by Rasheshwori Pala at Madan Mohon Temple as part of the function.
Ras Leela, Bhagawad Parikrama,Kunj Aarti and Maha Prasadam were the other main attractions of the auspicious ceremony.
Invitee, A.Syam.Sarma, members of Rasheshwori Pala and other religious devotees from Manipur took part in the function.
