Youth’s Forum for Protection of Human Rights (YFPHR) while condemning the killing of M Sairengkhup alias Akhup Kom (48), s/o M Tonpa Kom of Bungsanglen village under Churachandpur district, at Thotchanran village, Chandel District on the night of September 30, 2018, has appealed the state police department to arrest the people involved in the brutal murder.
“Such an act of inhumane and degrading action is highly condemnable and the persons involved in committing the heinous crime must be booked and punished according to the rule of law. It could be learned that the deceased person is survived with his three children and his wife, he is a daily wage earner,” YFPHR said in a statement.
The statement said that the YFPHR suspect involvement of some influential people behind the brutal murder of M Sairenkhup @ AkhupKom.
The forum appealed the civil society organisation, the students’ bodies and the religious leaders not to compromise the matter in the customary law but to respect the rule of law and the perpetrators be punished accordingly.
