AR Conducted Medical camp on occasion of world Alzheimer’s day

Keithelmanbi Batallion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South), conducted medical camp on occasion of World Alzheimer’s day at Manamjang village on 22nd September. The main focus of this event was to educate the old aged people of the village and create awareness about Alzheimer disease. Also the villagers were educated about first aid during snake bite cases and the importance of vaccination in a child’s life. Approximately 100 villagers attended the camp, wherein medicines, nutritional supplements and de-worming kits for pediatric age group were distributed. The locals thanked Assam Rifles for its efforts in promoting awareness about various health topics. Moreh Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) also conducted a programme on “World Cancer Free Day” at Chikkim village, Tengnoupal District on 22nd September. The event received an active participation by 36 civilians including 25 males, 04 females and 07 children. The lecture was conducted by Commandant T N K Ching, Medical Officer of the unit. The aim of the lecture was to make the local populace aware about the various types of cancers, its affects on both the individual and their family and precautions to be taken. The Commandant also put special emphasis on avoiding various tobacco products and explained its ill effects. The villagers showed keen interest in the lecture and many cancer related queries were clarified. At the end the villagers were served with tea and snacks as a refreshment.

On the other hand, An Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen meet is being organised by Chandel Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Pallel on 28 September 2018 from 09:30 AM onwards. This is in continuation of the policy of reaching out and connecting to our heroes and their families who have served our nation and continues to inspire the youth to do so with pride, dignity and valour. Arrangements are being made for medical check up, assistance to resolve grievances and awareness of the latest welfare policies of Assam Rifles. A large number of Ex-Servicemen, War Widows and Veer Naris are expected and further invited to attend the rally and make it a grand success.
