The district administration observed Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) today at Panchayat Resource Centre, Mini-Secretariat campus, Bishnupur. MLAs L. Radhakishore Singh, Tongbram Robindro Singh, Sanasam Bira Singh and Mani Yaima, Chairperson of Bishnupur Municipal Council, Pradhans, the DC, SP, DLOs and staffs participated in the event.
The event is organized by District Water and Sanitation Committee, Bishnupur.
During the celebration, 24 Gram Panchayat Pradhans were awarded ‘Open Defecation Free’ certificates in recognition of their effort to eradicate open defecation in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA L. Radhakishore Singh urged the people to help in keeping the surrounding clean of wastes and take up the issue of cleanliness as a personal duty to fulfill.
After social service is conducted at the Mini-Secretariat campus, the participants marched through Bishnupur town to the District Hospital to propagate the message of Clean India.
