Rashtriya Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Month) for Chandel District  was officially launched today by Secretary (Revenue/CAF & PD)and Disrtict Go To Village Nodal Officer, Shri T.Ranjit Singh. The Rashtriya Poshan Maah which is going to be observed throughout the month was officially launched today at Purum Chumbang Village community hall alongside the 11th episode of the Go to Village Mission’s camp which is also being held at the village on Tuesday.
Speaking about Rashtriya Poshan Maah, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, Shri Krishna Kumar said that this month is specially dedicated on improving the health and nutrition status and to create awareness amongst all the stake holders. Stressing on the importance of health and nutrition of a child, he said 9 months before delivery and 2 years after the delivery, these 1000 days are the most crucial period for a baby as no amount of treatment can recover the lost or damage done during this period. He further said that for this mission Anganwadi workers and the anganwadi centres are the most important institutions. He also mentioned that other institutes like education department which creates awareness amongst the students, PHED which provides clean drinking water, toilets and sanitation facilities and all other departments also have  different roles to play. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all the villagers to interact with the ASHA and the Anganwadi workers. And also to be aware about De-worming, Hand washing, Diversified diets and Cleanliness etc. which are very minor things but which have a big impact on the health of our future generations.
Speaking about the Go To Village Mission, Secretary (Revenue/CAF & PD) and District Go To Village Nodal Officer, Shri T.Ranjit Singh said that though everyone is well aware about the objectives of the mission as it’s been going on since 1st of May, he reiterated that delivering of serves to our door step is one of the main objects of the mission. He further praised the specially department of Veterinary and animal husbandry and other departments for doing a good job during this mission.
As part of the today’s GTV program besides the services provided on spot, different departments like CAF & PD, Agriculture, Horticulture, Education Department etc. distributed many items to their respective beneficiaries.
