Fund of Kakching Khunou College amounting Rs. 36,32,952/- withdrawn without permission from Principal in charge

Fund of Kakching Khunou college which has been recently upgraded as Government college by the state government is likely to be in deep trouble after a Head of Department of the college identified as one Sh. Manitombi Devi withdraw a sum of Rs.  36,32,952/- without getting permission from the Principal in charge of the college.

General Secretary of the Student Union of Kakching Khunou College in a press conference held today at Manipur Press Club said that the huge amount has been withdrawn from The Manipur Rural Bank Kakching Branch on August 18, 2018. He said that Sh. Manitombi Devi is the head of Department of Physics and she has no authority to withdraw the college fund as the present Principal –in-charge is L. Iboyaima Singh , Joint Director of Universities and Higher Education Manipur. L. Iboyaima had been appointed as Principal in charge of Kakching Khunou College by an order of the Commissioner of Higher and Technical Education H. Deleep Singh issued in the name of the Governor of the state.

On the same day the Principal in charge of Kakching Khunou College L. Iboyaima had written to the General Manager of the Manipur Rural Bank Keishampat stating that one Sh. Manitombi Devi , who claims herself to be the Principal of the Kakching Khunou College has transferred Rs. 29,32,952 to some individuals and another Rs. 7 Lakhs to some other individuals without getting proper permission from the competent authority.

By the government order dated 13 July, 2018 Iboyaima is the Principal in Charge of Kakching Khunou College and no one other than him is allow to withdraw fund of the college until the government appointed another Principle .

The Kakching Khunou College Students’ Union taking the matter seriously has threaten to launch serious form of agitation if the concern government authority fails to take up any appropriate action against Sh. Manitombi Devi. The student body also suspected the Manager of the Manipur Rural Bank , Kakching branch identified as one Amarjit to have been conspire with the fake in-charge Principal while withdrawing the fund.
