Maoist Communist Party Manipur appealed the people to stand united against the framework agreement signed between the government of India and the NSCN-IM as well as the intrusion to the territory of Manipur by Myanmarese at the Indo-Myanmar border.

In a statement the rebel group said that people have lost trust to the present government as well as the civil society organizations of the state in seeing the recent development to the issue of the Manipur’s territories.

It added that the issue of Frame Work agreement as submitted by the Parliamentary committee report  and the stand of the Indian authority which stated that there is no intrusion to the Indian territory by Myanmar government after the Survey of India team visited the controversial border pillar number 81 to 91 cannot be taken lightly.

The way the government of Manipur and the Civil Society organizations are handling is not satisfactory to the people of the state. The statement said that while acknowledging the effort of the government of Manipur to both the issue it is a matter of shame in seeing the way that the central government are treating to the government of Manipur. The rebel group said that when the Civil society organizations are voicing strong oppositions but remain silent to the issue of the Myanmar intrusion to Manipur’s boundary.

The rebel group further said that both the issue of Frame work agreement should go together and nothing as such that voicing against one issue is of value as territorial integrity is affected either by the intrusion as well as the Frame Work Agreement.

The Maoist appeals the people to stand together against any threat to the territorial integrity of the state.
