The Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim has expressed strong resentment over the act of the 32nd Assam Rifles personnel that raided the residence of Mr. Kishore Jeedung, Member, Steering Committee at Dhansiripar, Dimapur district.
A statement by the MIP of the GPRN/NSCN-IM said that about 20-30 persons came wearing mask and without insignia deliberately violating the Cease Fire Ground Rules (CFGR) on 09/08/2018 at around 6.40 PM.
“The intruders forcefully made him to sign a NOC which stated that the intruders returned from his house without conducting any form of intrusion or raid at his residence. However, right after he signed the paper, the intruders unleashed their real motive to raid and abuse (physically and verbally) his family” , the statement said.
The NSCN-IM also alleged that the intruder tried to loot the family’s possession, but could only seize his Identity Card. The ordeal lasted for more than one and half hour until the Cease Fire Monitoring Cell (CFMC) intervened.
“ The unfortunate incident was witnessed by the Village Gaon Bura and village elders.
Despite the Cease Fire agreement which came into effect from August, 1997 and the same reinstated reinforcement (the CFGR review committee meeting on 13/06/2018 at Chumukedima) to observe in letter and spirit the mutually agreed Cease Fire Ground Rules keeping in mind the Framework Agreement that was signed and for the safe landing of the Indo-Naga political settlement, the repeated Assam Rifles offensive against NSCN members is highly condemned, and at the same time warned of any possible confrontation.
“The GPRN with regard to another incident of unprovoked firing by the Indian Army at New
Ngaolong village in Peren district on August 8, 2018 where a jawan of the 6 Sector Assam Rifles sustained injury, it is made clear that the NSCN has no intention of creating unwanted situation at this crucial hour. Rather, the GPRN expect the Indian Army to reciprocate the NSCN gesture of respecting the mutually agreed Cease Fire Ground Rules. The violation from the Indian Army led to the injury of the jawan which was an unintentional affliction. A few NSCN cadres who were on duty and resting at a hut were indiscriminately fired upon by the Assam Rifles personnel that compelled the Naga Army personnel to retaliate.
Realizing that Nagas and Indians will co-exist, it is best if the Indian Security Forces restrain from indulging in violent acts that will hamper the understanding that is being built on the basis of shared sovereignty”, the statement said.
