Managing Director NERCORMP, Shri. Dr. Shailendra Choudhari, along with Director (FI&FS) Mr. HB. Rocky Anal, visited NERCORMP Chandel on Thursday 26th July, 2018.
A review programme on the ongoing activities was held at Purum Pantha Village, Chandel Block, where more than 8 villages participated in the programme.
Altogether around 800 community members including the Chakpikarong Village Chief Association, Village Chief, NaRM-G Leaders, SHGs Leaders and surrounding community members attended the programme.
Smt. Lily Rose Jajo, District Project Director, NERCORMP Chandel, Officers and staff of NERCORMP Chandel, Chief Functionaries and staff of partner NGOs were also present in the program. In the programme, every village SHGs show case their produces, handicrafts and handloom items.
The programme started with Cultural dance showcasing different tribal dances. Welcome song was presented by SHG members.The respective NaRMG leaders of every village presented activity implementation status report. Shri Dr. Shailendra Chaudhari, Managing Director, NERCORMP, emphasized on his speech, the different developmental activities taken up NERCORMP in 4 North Eastern States of India.
He also mentioned that NERCORMP project was awarded as best project in the world by the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD).He appreciated the good work of the District Team and PNGOs and encouraged to continue the services in the development of the district. Smt. Lily Rose Jajo, District Project Director, NERCORMP Chandel and Shri HB. Rocky Anal Director (FI&FS) also spoke on the programme.
