Children music workshop concludes

Imphal, Feb 9: The  closing function of the One month Children Music Workshop conducted by Haobam Nisheshwor music composer of the Rhythms of Manipur with the financial support of the Ministry of  Culture was held on Thursday at the Golden Jubilee Stage of the Manipuri Jagoi Marup, Imphal.

The closing function of the  Music Workshop was graced by Budha Chingtham,Eminent Art Critic also State representative at the NEZCC Dimapur and EZCC Kolkota as Chief Guest, Shri N.Jadumani Singh,State kala Akademi Awardee and Theatre Director as President and Dr.W.Ibomcha Singh President Spic Macay, Manipur Chapter as Guest of Honour respectively.

The fusion music performance lasting about one hour presented by twenty young musicians including eight girls was the main highlight of the closing function of the music workshop.

The music workshop was conducted under the scheme of the Cultural Functions and Production Grant Scheme of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Speaking at the function the Chief  Guest Budha Chingtham stressed the need for organising such music workshops and lauded the Project Director and Rhythms of Manipur for taking up such bold ventures.

The President of the function Jadumani stressed the need for preservation of age old traditions to safeguard the identity of the community. Dr Ibomcha assured to shows the talents of the young boys and girls outside the State in the near future. The closing function and the music performance was witnessed by impressive crowds.
