State preparing consultative and drafting committee for ILPS Bill- N. Biren

Imphal, Dec 22: Chief Minister N. Biren Singh who is also the leader of the house today said that the state government is preparing to form a consultative committee as well as a drafting committee for presentation of a permit system to check entry of outsider in the state. In both the committee leaders of all ethnic communities of the state will be included, Biren added while replying to a calling attention motion raised by Congress MLA K Meghachandra Singh.
MLA Meghachandra drew the attention of the house to present the stand of the government on the issue of introducing the Inner Line Permit System.
Replying to the call attention motion, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that the issue of the ILP is ignited due to the irresponsibility of the Drivers, government officials like SDO, ADC as these people allotted land to anybody without proper investigation and also the politician for mere gain of vote bank. Biren further said that a Bill will be prepared soon and requested all members of the house to pass it.
On the other hand Biren added that more checking for influx of outsider without proper valid document has been intensified at all entry point to the state by opening police out posts.
He added that at Jiribam a total of 178 persons without proper valid identification proof have been sent back and a Bangladeshi has been arrested.
He said the Bills passed for introduction of ILPS has not been given assent by the president of India. That was because of the lapses in the Bill and this time there should not be any lapses while drafting the Bill, he added.
