Maoist Communist Party, Manipur today in a press statement said that the outfit will stand to empower women of the state.The press statement signed by Comrade Nonglen Meitei said that in order to empower women in the state the outfit is going to set up women wings in 60 assembly constituencies of the state. These women wings will tackle the issues and crimes committed against women in the state.It further said that the sufferings faced by women in Manipur still remain unchanged. In our patriarchal society women are the soft targets for men to commit various crimes. Due to this the status of the women is very low in the state. It also mentioned that more than 50 incidents of committing crimes against women have been occurred in the state since the beginning of the year 2014.
